Christian Eriksen’s exit could cost Tottenham a top-four finish in the Premier League, according to Paul Merson. Eriksen flew to Italy to undergo a medical for Inter Milan on Monday after the Serie A giants and Spurs agreed on a fee of £17million. The Denmark international’s contract in north London was coming up in the summer and Tottenham were unable to convince him to extend his stay at the club. Merson, though, claims Jose Mourinho’s side will struggle to make it to the top four and qualify for next season’s Champions League if they don’t replace Eriksen.
