While the setting and characters in Total War: Three Kingdoms largely follow the historical details of the records, the narrative is historical-fiction inspired by the novel, Romance of the Three Kingdoms by Luo Guanzhong. Battling with itself at timesThe most obvious draw in any Total War game is the real-time strategy battles. However, that being said Total War: Three Kingdoms seems to lack the same cinematic flare its predecessors had. ConclusionThere is no doubt Total War: Three Kingdoms excels in many areas and has made some welcome if not long overdue changes, but it is far from perfect.
