George Eustice said the fact supermarkets survived despite coronavirus panic-buying showed the supply chain is "remarkably resilient". He told MPs: "Nothing gets panic-buying going better than government coming out and saying 'don't panic'." But Mr Eustice said supply had held up during the coronavirus pandemic and would again. He said: "What we know from all the behavioural research that has been done is that nothing gets panic-buying going better than government coming out and saying 'don't panic'.
