A Conservative councillor has called for Boris Johnson to resign as Prime Minister over the 'partygate' scandal. Anthony Spencer, who is a ward councillor in Shenley at Hertsmere Borough Council, says Mr Johnson must be held "accountable" for what happens in Downing Street. Number 10 has been rocked in recent weeks over reports and allegations Mr Johnson, his staff, and civil servants broke Covid restrictions during lockdowns. The Prime Minister has so far refused to bow down to calls from both members of his own party and the opposition to stand down. But Cllr Spencer is under no illusion of what he thinks Mr Johnson should do.
