And today he was elected leader of the council - usually a full-time job in itself. Labour MPs in the area have questioned whether he would be "claiming the full-time salary/allowance for doing the job part-time". While a number of MPs have retained council seats - the Mirror has found no record of an MP being elected as a councillor and then as council leader while sitting in the Commons. Mr Bradley also faced criticism from Labour's leader of Nottingham City Council, David Mellen, who tweeted: "Being a Council Leader is very much a full time job, as is being a Member of Parliament.
