Many shopping malls and stores across the city opened early for Black Friday sales while determined Torontonians lined up to get their hands on some good deals. Black Friday first began as an American shopping bonanza marked by deep discounts that begin Friday, but now often runs for days. But as the Canadian dollar sinks lower — it's now sitting at around at 74 cents US — industry reports show that fewer Canadians are crossing the border and to hit those malls for bargains. Fewer Canadians are crossing the border to shop Black Friday deals because of the low Canadian dollar.
