Police responded to a call at approximately 2:30 p.m. about a serious collision on Island Rd. The woman killed in a two-vehicle collision in Port Perry on Friday afternoon was a Toronto resident, Durham regional police confirm. The driver, a 76-year-old Toronto man, sustained serious injuries. The driver of the Sorento, a 70-year-old Scugog Township woman, sustained non-life threatening injuries and was also taken to hospital. Members of the Durham Regional Police Collision Investigation Unit conducted a full investigation on scene, resulting in the closure of the road for several hours.
