Toronto police are investigating the death of a woman who was killed in the early hours on Friday morning, in the area of Lawrence Avenue West and Culford Road. Police have identified the victim as 63-year-old Claudette James of Toronto. The woman succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Shelly-Ann James, 36, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. James made an afternoon appearance at Toronto West Courts Friday via video link.
