Toronto police officer criminally charged with breach of trust, suspended with pay

A Toronto police officer has been suspended and charged with breach of trust for allegedly using police systems to provide information to a man who is an alleged suspect in another police service’s probe into theft, police said in a statement Sunday. The officer used police computers to give the man details of an address and a vehicle, police alleged in their statement. The officer, 20-year veteran Constable Ewan MacLeod of 23 division, was suspended from duty in April. He was arrested on Friday and criminally charged with one count of breach of trust. MacLeod, 44, was suspended with pay and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 6 at College Park.
