Toronto police charge 25-year-old man in connection with six bank robberies

Toronto police say a man who allegedly committed six bank robberies in Toronto and Brampton since 2017 has been arrested, and is facing 13 charges. The first two robberies took place over four days in 2017: the suspect entered two separate bank branches in Brampton on the 7th and 10th of October. Between December of 2017 and January of 2018, the same man turned his focus to banks in Toronto, police say, entering three banks in the North York area. The final robbery took place again in Brampton on March 23 of this year. After what Toronto police call a “lengthy investigation,” they identified 25-year-old Ivan Ramirez Chavira as a suspect and arrested him on April 24.
