The move comes after a huge public uproar over Canadian pride and what makes a ketchup a truly Canadian ketchup. French’s Food Company has struck a deal with Select Food Products Ltd., a food manufacturing plant near Bermondsey Rd. Starting in 2017, French's ketchup is to be produced in Toronto. Elliott Penner, president of French’s Food division, which is part of international conglomerate Reckitt Benckiser, committed in the spring to move ketchup production to Ontario. That sent French’s ketchup flying off the shelves.
