An early pandemic evening walk, drifting through south Etobicoke, led to Jeff Healey Park near The Queensway and Park Lawn Road. All it took was one complaint to get something in this park removed that possibly many more people, especially kids, enjoyed. The bells are reminiscent of the removal of benches at the corner of Church and Alexander Streets. The completely public gathering space at Alexander saw the benches removed a few years ago — as with the bells of the Annex — because people were actually using them. Why is the weight of one homeowner’s complaint over the Annex playground bells heavier than other complaints that go unrectified?
