As expected, the most successful head coach in Raptors history is sticking around long-term. Previously, Ujiri stuck with Casey after Toronto’s disastrous sweep at the hands of the Washington Wizards, and that decision paid off a season later. Casey’s current staff also includes Jerry Stackhouse, Jama Mahlalela and Alex McKechnie and Jamaal Magloire, who also have other roles. The Raptors set or tied franchise win marks each of the past three seasons, culminating in 56 victories and second place in the conference. He finished fifth in coach of the year voting in 2015-16 and won the Professional Basketball Writer’s Association’s Rudy Tomjanovich Award for excellence and professionalism at his craft.
