Toronto Blue Jays mum on reported lawsuit alleging Edwin Encarnacion gave a woman STDs

Blue Jays slugger Edwin Encarnacion is reportedly being sued for $11.5 million by a woman who claims the star gave her multiple sexually transmitted diseases during a February tryst in the Dominican Republic. According to the gossip site TMZ, the 33-year-old Encarnacion’s accuser is a 24-year-old family friend who first met the designated hitter in 2013. She alleges the pair had a weekend getaway to Punta Cana and had unprotected sex on at least two occasions. Encarnacion suggested: “She may have picked up (the STDs) when they went four-wheeling and she swam in the river.”Eventually, she claims, Encarnacion stopped contacting her. He and his longtime girlfriend, Jennifer Pena, have one son, Edwin Jr.“The Blue Jays and Edwin Encarnacion will continue to keep our focus on the game of baseball and will not be commenting on this matter,” said an e-mailed statement from Jay Stenhouse, the Blue Jays vice president of communications.
