Michael Saunders led off the top of the ninth with a walk against Boston closer Craig Kimbrel. Pillar sacrificed Pompey to second then, with Carrera at the plate, Kimbrel uncorked a wild pitch about four feet over the catcher’s head. The Jays can still win the first wild card slot — and home field advantage — with a victory Sunday in Game No. Pillar then produced an RBI single to deliver his third run of the night to give the Jays a 3-2 lead. With six outs to go, Gibbons went to his closer Osuna, and that’s when the real fun began.
