Toronto ‘Survivor’ winner, Erika Casupanan, says flying under the radar worked to her advantage in outwitting the alpha males
A communications manager from Niagara Falls used her powers of persuasion to become the 41st winner of “Survivor” and the first Canadian to be awarded the title. “I think that women do have a tougher time on the show,” she told the Star. The show’s newest winner said she combated the perception of women as weaker in the game by playing up that characterization. I’m not going to try to prove anything to anyone.”Former “Survivor” winner Wendell Holland hypothesized there might be something more to the recent string of male winners. “Something that skews toward male winners.”Former “Survivor” winner Parvati Shallow agreed and told the Star that women have to battle more preconceived notions than the men they compete against.
