On Wednesday night, a string of tornadoes tore through Oklahoma and Iowa, leaving at least three dead and many injured. According to the National Weather Service, there were a total of eight confirmed tornadoes in Oklahoma and three in Iowa. In addition, there were at least 15 reported tornadoes across the states of Oklahoma, Iowa, and Kansas.The McClain County Emergency Management confirmed that a “large and extremely dangerous tornado” was over Cole, Oklahoma, where the McClain County Sherrif‘s Office confirmed two deaths and multiple injuries. The storm is expected to move east and produce severe weather outbreaks with tornadoes, huge hail, and extreme straight line winds. On Thursday, severe weather will stretch east from Texas to Illinois, affecting major cities such as San Antonio, Dallas, Houston, St. Louis, and Little Rock.
