Environment Canada's tornado warning for Windsor, Leamington and Essex County — has been downgraded to a severe thunderstorm warning. The new warning was issued just after 5 p.m. on Thursday, less than an hour after having issued the tornado alert. According to the latest messaging from officials, the severe storm, located north of Tecumseh, is capable of producing strong winds. Regions most likely impacted by the storm include Tecumseh, Belle River and St. Clair Beach. Officials are reminding the public that severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes.
