The Government finally set out its plans today and it is clear they fall far short of what the Prime Minister promised. This is not nearly adequate to solve the lack of provision, improve the quality of care and halt the exodus of staff. Yet the Social Care White Paper had almost nothing to say on staff pay and recruitment. And we have seen it again with our revelation that Downing Street staff partied away while the rest of us were told to stay at home.
