“I’m the party leader,” Fedeli asserted moments after Tory MPPs unanimously elected him to succeed Patrick Brown. Progressive Conservatives have opted for MPP Vic Fedeli as their interim leader — but it remains unclear whether the former North Bay mayor will lead them into the June 7 election. But Fedeli added he “would not sign Patrick Brown’s nomination papers” if the ex-leader tries to run in a Barrie riding in the spring vote. “If every member does not get a chance to vote on a new leader they will not necessarily get behind the new leader. It’s an absolute no-brainer.”Dykstra agreed there are some great candidates from outside caucus who could lead the party.
