Ms Nandy said: “The Winter Olympics is a critical moment when Britain must stand up for our values. “The Government must use this moment to call time on one of the world’s most appalling human rights atrocities. A government spokesperson said: "The government has been vocal in calling out the egregious human rights abuses being committed against the Uighurs and other minorities in Xinjiang, most recently at the UN Human Rights Council alongside more than 40 countries. "No decisions have yet been made about [UK government] attendance at the Beijing Winter Olympics in 2022."
