The athletes will use the contest to prepare for the busy season that will have World Championships in Oregon, Commonwealth Games in Birmingham and Africa Championships in Mauritius. The disciplined force will include Kenya Defence Forces, National Police Service, Kenya Prisons Service and the National Youth Service. Police who have dominated the championships over the years have recruited heavily with Africa 100m record holder Ferdinand Omanyala leading the assault in both 100m and 200m. World marathon champion Ruth Chepngetich and World 1,500m champion Timothy Cheruiyot will be chasing the national titles for Prisons Services.
