(Photo supplied/Wassayos Ngamkham)The Supreme Administrative Court on Friday dismissed a petition filed by former deputy national police chief Surachate “Big Joke” Hakparn, seeking to overturn an order dismissing him from the police force. In June 2024, the 12-member Police Commission, chaired by then prime minister Srettha Thavisin, voted unanimously to uphold the dismissal order. The former deputy chief argued that the order was unlawful and appealed to the police merit protection committee. In March last year, a police disciplinary committee recommended that Pol Gen Surachate be fired without a pension because of his alleged links to online gambling. Gold bribery casePol Gen Surachate is currently the subject of another investigation, this one related to alleged bribery.
