Basketball Otago recognised its top achievers this year at its annual prizegiving on Thursday. Sisters Aleisha and Nicole Ruske shared the team’s most valuable player award. Nicole was presented with Blues for national team representation, having played for the Junior Tall Ferns. Aitcheson won most valuable player of the under-19 men’s team, while that team’s coach Greg Brockbank shared the coach of the year award with under-15 boys coach Dean Ruske. Most valuable player, most improved and endeavour awards were presented in age-grades from under-13 upwards.
