Some 120 local government areas have recorded a week-on-week jump in Covid case levels, although rates are falling in 188 districts. The areas with the biggest weekly increases are Broxtowe, North Lincolnshire, Barnsley, West Lindsey and Rugby . Broxtowe in Nottinghamshire recorded 105 cases in the latest seven-day period - up from 57 the week before. Barnsley in Yorkshire is currently the country's worst Covid hotspot, with 193.6 infections per 100,000 people. The latest figures come after a further 112 people died of coronavirus in the UK - a 50% drop on two weeks ago.
