After months of disruption and uncertainty, secondary schools across Merseyside have celebrated special achievements after being ranked some of the best in the UK. The Blue Coat School, based in Wavertree, was ranked as the best state secondary school in Liverpool, with a national ranking of 26. Only schools that published their results in those years or disclosed them to The Sunday Times have been included in this edition of The Sunday Times Schools Guide, which includes around 1,700 schools. The top Independent secondary school in Merseyside was Tower College in Rainhill, with a national ranking of 72.
