Thieves appear to be targeting tradie tools in Queenstown again, with police investigating a spree of burglaries and break-ins. Sergeant Steve Watt said three cars were broken into in the Haddow's Pl/Bridesdale Dr area of Lake Hayes Estate overnight on Tuesday. Nothing was taken in the first break-in, but a large number of tools, a toolbox and car radio were taken in the second and third incidents. Police were also investigating after a house on Wynyard Cr in Fernhill was broken into on Wednesday. Sgt Watt said the incidents were a "timely reminder'' to people to ensure they lock their doors and keep valuables out of sight.
