According to Trần Hồng Mai, deputy head of the ministry’s BIM Steering Committee, BIM is an important solution for the construction industry to approach the 4.0 era. Mai said the application of BIM in Việt Nam’s construction sector remained modest and lacked orientation despite its benefits. BIM would help improve productivity, quality and efficiency of construction investment and facility management, he said. Việt Nam’s growth in the building and construction industry would be further accelerated with the adaptation of BIM, Daniel Green, director of Government Affairs, Autodesk, Asia-Pacific, said. The ministry planned to roll out BIM nationwide from 2011 onwards with the issuance of detailed guidelines for applying BIM in construction and facility management.
