Too, Chepkemoi win junior races in Machakos

The 500m battle was left between Too and Youth Olympics 5,000m champion Jackson Kavesa, but it's Too, who finished third at Isaiah Kiplagat Ndalat Gaa Memorial Cross Country last month, who prevailed for his maiden cross country victory. Josphat Too celebrates after winning the men's Under-20 8km race during the first leg of Athletics Kenya Cross Country Series at the People's Park, Machakos on November 23, 2019. After finishing fifth in Eldama Ravine and third at Kabarnet, Chepkemoi finally cracked the right codes to win women's 6km race in 21:07.3, beating Janet Nyiva from Machakos and Bomet's Cynthia Chepng'eno in 21:07.9 and 11:14.0 respectively. Besides eying the ticket for the African Cross Country, Chepkemoi also targets a place in 3,000m steeplechase team for the World Under-20 Championships planned for July next year in Nairobi. Janet Nyiva (Machakos) 11:07.93.
