Later this month, Romo will continue to test himself against top competition when he participates in the prestigious Northeast Amateur on June 19-22 at Wannamoisett Country Club in Rumford, R.I. Although the Northeast Amateur isn’t as well-known as PGA Tour events, it always has a loaded field with numerous college All-Americans. This time, Romo will be back in the area trying to show how much he’s improved on the golf course. Romo received a sponsor exemption and competed in his first PGA Tour event last March at the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship in the Dominican Republic. This year, Romo has competed in two more PGA Tour tournaments, missing the cut both times.
