Highlanders chief executive Roger Clark said Brown was already working through planning for 2021. "We are extremely fortunate to have somebody of Tony’s calibre amongst our coaching ranks and available for the head coach role," he said. Brown welcomed the opportunity to be involved as the head coach again.
