There's no NCAA NET ranking yet, but Ken Pomeroy's preseason rankings show Fred Hoiberg's lads on a sugar diet. Then there's Florida A&M (344), Rider (229), Stony Brook (276), Oregon State (175), Duqesne (89), Cal State Fullerton (174), North Dakota (255) and South Carolina State (345). The last time they won nine nonconference games was 10-1 in 2018-19. It's way too early to talk about any of that, but there's a strategy to scheduling. The Big Ten is different, but other Big Ten teams have dipped into the portal there.
