Tom Cotton unveils bill to defund schools teaching 1619 Project, whose author called whites ‘savages’
Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) introduced a bill that would block public schools teaching the New York Times’ race-baiting 1619 Project from receiving federal funding. Nikole Hannah-Jones is the author of the 1619 Project. The 1619 Project claims America wasn’t a democracy until blacks made it one. “The New York Times’s 1619 Project is a racially divisive, revisionist account of history that denies the noble principles of freedom and equality on which our nation was founded,” Cotton said. Cotton’s bill — the Saving American History Act of 2020 — would prohibit the use of federal funds to teach the 1619 Project by K-12 schools or school districts.
