Administration clerk Marlene Tooke has achieved the longest haul for a freight company in New Plymouth. Tooke has worked on the one job for 45 years, making her its longest-serving female staff member. When Tooke first clocked on at the local branch of freight forwarding and logistics company Toll NZ in February of 1973, it was the state-owned NZ Railways. While the female to male employee ratio at her workplace leans towards the latter, she wouldn't have it any other way.
