MANILA, Philippines — Senatorial aspirant Francis Tolentino has withdrawn his electoral protest against Senator Leila de Lima before the Senate Electoral Tribunal (SET). In a motion filed on Jan. 19, Tolentino said he “voluntarily” withdrew his protest as he will have to “indulge” being a senatorial aspirant in the May 2019 elections. However, he said the withdrawal of his protest against De Lima is not a sign of “surrender” in proving the existence of election fraud in 2016.
