After a chaotic build-up overshadowed by coronavirus the delayed Tokyo Olympic Games finally got underway with a somewhat low-key opening ceremony on Friday. Saturday sees the first 11 gold medals up for grabs, with the highlight of the day the men's cycling road race, which is taking place between 3am-10am GMT. There was disappointment in the tennis for Brit Heather Watson, who crashed out to German Anna-Lena Friedsam 7-6 (7-5) 6-3 in the first round of the Women's singles. But on a more positive note Andy Murray and his partner Joe Salisbury made it through in the doubles after they beat French pair Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hugues Herbert 6-3 6-2.
