Togo’s parliament rubber-stamped the West African country’s move to become member of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) in view of tapping into the support of the organization’s technical assistance. The move, according to the legislature, heralds transition to a resilient national economy by promoting job change, job creation, and skills development, local media Togo First reports. In October 2020, Togo announced its decision to join the Seoul-based organizations. GGGI was established as an international intergovernmental organization in 2012 at the Rio+20 United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development. The organization envisions to attain a low-carbon, resilient world of strong, inclusive, and sustainable growth and its mission to support Members in the transformation of their economies into a green growth economic model.
