Togadia lauds Modi govt of 'cow bhakts'

Pravin Togadia New Delhi, Sept. 1: Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Pravin Togadia has issued a statement saying his outfit was "confident" the central government had many " gau bhakts", appearing to back off weeks after he accused Narendra Modi of "victimising" cow saviours. "We are confident that there are many ' gau bhakts' in the central government and the BJP who have taken a pledge for cow protection." On August 13, Togadia had gone ballistic while reacting to Modi's assertions at a town hall-style meeting in Delhi days earlier that he was "very angry" with thugs masquerading as cow protectors. Togadia insinuated that Modi had "lied" when the Prime Minister said "70 to 80 per cent" of cow protectors were "anti-social elements" and demanded "proof". Togadia also suggested Modi was "anti-Hindu" because he had branded cow protectors "criminals" while "absolving the butchers of a serious crime".
