Commerce minister Tofail Ahmed on Saturday said local airliners have to utilise the opportunities and potentialities prevailing for them in the country. “They (airlines) have to build good reputation before the clients,” said the minister while addressing a seminar as chief guest in Dhaka on Saturday. Aviation Operators Association of Bangladesh (AOAB) organised the seminar titled “Problems of Local Airlines and Potentialities”. Mentioning that the private carriers are yet to do good job, the commerce minister said: “Although many private carriers had started journey, but only three are in operation now. Speaking on the occasion as special guest, civil aviation and tourism minister Rashed Khan Menon said there are immense potentialities for local carriers, but skilled manpower is required to seize the scope.
