On November 3, 1964, President Lyndon B. Johnson won a landslide victory over Republican Barry Goldwater in that year’s Presidential election. His victory came with 61 per cent of the popular vote across America, with Goldwater only securing the support of 39 per cent of the voting American public. A few days after his victory, LBJ took a congratulatory call from Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson. Thanks to the hard-working staff of the LBJ Presidential Library in Austin, Texas, we can listen to Mike and Lyndon here.
