The government at the time also granted the two, refugee status without informing parliament. The GITMO 2, Mahmud Umar Muhammad Bin Atef and Khalid Muhammad Salih Al-Dhuby were considered as a threat to peace and security. Former United States ambassador to Ghana, Robert P. Jackson, revealed that the Gitmo 2 have been integrated into the Ghanaian society. “Both of them are married now; both of them have children now; both of them are well integrated into Ghana,” he stated.
