The first group of Toronto FC personnel has received its first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine with more to follow. Chief medical officer of health Dr. Heather Morrison says there are eight active reported cases on the Island. Morrison says two cases reported on March 26 have been confirmed as the B.1.1.7 variant first identified in the United Kingdom. In Toronto, the public health unit says it has recommended the closure of 20 schools as COVID-19 cases are investigated.
