Union Finnace Minister Arun Jaitley talked about tightening railway security in Budget 2018 and the railways had started implementing the same. According to a report in the Indian Express, Railways would soon launch a website for its staff, where employees can raise an alarm if there is any security lapse within the system. The newspaper said that the website would be monitored by the Railway Ministry’s safety department, headed by Railway Board Chairman Ashwani Lohani. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley allocated Rs 2,025 crore for an overhaul of the signalling and telecommunication system of the Indian Railways in 2018-2019. The RRSK will have Rs 5,000 crore from Capital (Budgetary Support), Rs 10,000 crore from the Railway Safety Fund and Rs 5,000 crore from the Railways?
