I'll gladly wait for the experts to weigh in and confirm it, but to my layperson's eye, this sure looks like domestic violence. In my almost 20 years writing about baseball on the internet, I've been consistent in my calls for zero tolerance in domestic violence cases. I've railed upon Bobby Cox more times than I can recall, and no excuses shoukd be made for Mr. Baer. As is often the case when domestic violence rears its ugly head, the abuser makes it worse by coming out with an inane statement. If a ball player can be suspended for domestic violence (and rarely with video documentation), a baseball executive must be treated the same way.
