Banani police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Mokhlesur Rahaman said: “We found the gate's lock broken, and the vault door open. Jatiya Party claimed that Tk43 lakh has been stolen. However, no case or general diary (GD) has been filed in this regard as of yet.”He said Jatiya Party Chairman Hussain Muhammad Ershad was in the office till 11:30pm, and it is possible there was a break in after he left. “Our senior officials will talk to the party and take action according to the law,” the SI said.
