CCC are the defending champions of the tournamentBy Ishani UpatharithaTitle defenders, Colombo Cricket Club (CCC) qualified to this week’s quarter-finals of the main annual inter-club T20 tournament of the country, the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC)-organised Major Club T20 tournament 2020/21 over the weekend. Along with CCC, its adjoining Nondescripts Cricket Club (NCC), Colts, Singhalese Sports Club (SSC), and Kurunegala YCC too had advanced to the last eight of the tournament by Saturday (13). CCC and NCC have clean sheetsBy Saturday, both CCC and NCC maintained a clean sheet of five out of five wins to lead Group A and B respectively. Burgher Recreation Club (BRC) were second in Group A, with three wins out of five, going into their last match of the tournament on Sunday (14), against CCC. Colts and Air Force were in second and third places in Group B, behind NCC, with three wins out of five.
