Sir, The government’s shift in focus to personal responsibility is all well and good but a great section of the public will not have the power to decide for themselves. Restrictions on university students have been above and beyond those that the general population has had to endure. For almost two academic years most of us have been taught exclusively from our small student bedrooms and not allowed to meet more than our household bubbles. Extracurricular activities, the lifeblood of the student experience and a key selling point of university prospectuses, almost entirely subsist on Zoom. Universities are being forced to make decisions now about the restrictions they feel they will need to impose next year.
