There is no precedent for a British prime minister having been found to have deliberately misled the House of Commons. Jim StatherFarnham, SurreyAdvertisementSir, Jenni Russell is clearly not a fan of Boris Johnson (“New Tory leader must finally bury Boris”, Oct 7) but he is arguably the most popular politician in the country. Second, be realistic about spending priorities, which determine how much of the national bill the tax system can meet. He used to say “the world is complex and that’s why the tax system is complex”.
