The highlight of my week was without doubt seeing one of my daughter’s school-friends, Anna Patten, come on as a substitute for Arsenal Women in the north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur Women away from home on Saturday. I last saw Anna play for Wheathampstead Wanderers boys’ team as a tiny ten-year-old and she was easily man-of-the-match! Anna played at right back on Saturday and it took all my concentration not to cheer and clap every time she received the ball; but did I receive bemused looks from the assistant referee and photographers when in the 74th minute she replaced Noelle Maritz as I stood up and cheered in the empty vast Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
