Thunderstorms hit the state of Western Australia during last weekend, bringing stormy conditions to Coral Bay that continued until the morning of Monday, July 6. Footage recorded by local resident Prue Wheeler shows ominous clouds from a storm front as they move over a beach and bring rainfall to the area. Writing on Instagram, Wheeler said: “The sky has been putting on quite a show over the last 15 hours … starting with an incredible sunset last night, a full moon rising, a lightning storm, then this front.”The Bureau of Meteorology, Western Australia said about 40,000 lightning strikes were recorded in the state in one hour on Sunday, July 5.
